I am grateful for

Now that we have taken a deep breath as a country (and planet)… what’s your November Intentions?

I am grateful for..

Instead of writing out a laundry list of must haves, wants, things to try, goals to aim for, friendly reminders… I just have one thought for November.

“I am grateful for'“.. on repeat.

This phrase is my reminder, acknowledgment, mantra, + mood of the month. When it’s been a rainy day + I had to cancel classes… “I am grateful for the sunshine”. When I have had a little too much ‘alone’ time. “I am grateful for my friends spoiling me with love + attention”. When my day is full of clients and classes “I am grateful for home cooked dinner and bedtime snuggles”.

Repeating this phrase has helped me find the good and allow it to feel up my soul. It’s not about always being positive or always finding the positive. BUT being grateful for the moments that make us smile, that help us find fulfillment, that keeps us moving forward even on the harder days.

Kind to ourself + to those around us

As an instructor we each have our own ‘sign off’ at the end of class.

A way to show love + thanks for a great practice. Even if it is not a yoga class I ask all my clients to give thanks to themselves at the end of their workout.

Just so you have my blessing saved for your home practice.

Sit up tall. Biggest inhale, biggest smile, reach both arms to the sky and bring your hands in prayer to heart center. Bow your head and give thanks to your body that you can move today + every day. Hands in between your eyebrows, third eye center, your eye of intuition: Find thanks not just for you body, but your mind, spirit, and soul sharing kindness with yourself + those around you. Namaste.
